I was a little irritated at my Dad because we both know the status of our Visa even without checking them online. It was clearly said that we are to receive it within 5-7 days. And I am sending messages to my friends. Ugh. Anyway, I know I cannot win against him so I did check up on it.

“Visa Issued po, Dad,” I told him, not wanting to spoil myself. When he was satisfied, he went back to the room to have his afternoon siesta. However, a minute later, he burst out of the room again, yelling.

“Ate! Ate! Tignan mo yung text, dali!” He said, showing me his phone.

I read: Hi Sir Arthur! We have already received your Visa. You can pick them up tomorrow at our office. Thank you!

I shouted even before my mind even told me what was happening. My dad was jumping too in glee. Thank you Lord because finally, after 34 long years of waiting. We finally came to this. We are finally in this moment.

“Tell Tita already po!”

But he was hesitant. Saying that if he does, there is this big possibility that Tita will book us immediately. Immediately as in we will fly tomorrow. It was me who insisted to call her right now because I want her to be happy about our progress. So daddy called him.

I didn’t get to hear to hear her responses but daddy said, “Uy, wag naman bukas. Pwede bang mga Monday o kahit Tuesday man lang?”

The next thing I knew, Tita booked us a flight on Friday.

Daddy repeated Tita Maggie’s words. “Kuya hindi na pwede. Ang pinaka late niyo na ay Friday. Kasi sa Saturday ang celebration party.”

FRIDAY everyone. I just messaged my friends in high school and college that we will have the farewell party on FRIDAY and SATURDAY. So how is that, people?

“Wag na. Cancel all plans. Aalis na tayo on Friday,” Dad dismissed.

Can’t. Just. Leave. Without. Seeing. Them. For. The. Last. Time.

So I talked to mom afterwards when she arrived home. I explained I just told them about the party and I want to it to push through. Fortunately for me, she agreed. So Dad will. Hehehehez.

I messaged my college friends again:

Guys, joke lang pala yung Friday. If free kayo tom, hehehe. Sorry 🙁 hoping to see you tom
